OK I JUST HAD TO RESPOND TO THIS!!!!
YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! I WAS ACTUALLY LAMENTING HIS DEATH RECENTLY AND WAS SURPRISED TO SEE YOU GUYS ARE PAYING TRIBUTE TO HIM!!!

Ok, let me calm down. hahha. But you get it. LOVE it. This is too awesome. My friend who's Egyptian contacted me and asked what books I like that she should recommend to me in Arabic, and I told her anything that's realistic fiction, based on history/historical events, stuff like that. And I mentioned Season of Migration to the North. Wow. <3 arabicpod!

This was a very good lesson for both content and language, and now I'm thinking of reading his books again since I read them 10 years ago.
Thanks guys and I hope to see more frequent intermediate and upper intermediate lessons especially on current issues...

Fantastic lesson again guys! Wow, I remember having to read the first chapter of his book very interesting and difficult but rewarding! Are we going to see Taha Hussein or Naguib Mahfouz soon??? Or some more contemporary writers in the Arabic world? Amazing!

Also, how about a lesson with football words? Or mobile phone words? I'm still confused the official way to say "bad/weak signal"! hehe

Thanks guys! A most fantastic lesson again!

Soon soon soon.. All coming soon smile
Nice idea about mobile phone coverage problem. The football lesson has been recorded, just needs to follow the process of production before going live.

It may be helpful to point out that "maqaal" (pl. maqaalat), which means "essay" or "article", is related to "qaal" (= said). This illustrates the way the Arabic root system functions.

I tried this one, just to hear the arabic spoken.
Also this can be used for getting used to hearing the Arabic language spoken, to familiarise with the speed, the pronunciations and the whole lot in-situ.
thanks guys
