For those of you who like football, this lesson is for you! Even if you know a bit of Arabic already you could be sitting there baffled by what the narrator is saying because a lot of the words used in football matches are hardly used anywhere else. That's where we come in and make things all the more clearer to understand.

Thanx for this lesson.
But I wanted to ask how would we say : "pass the ball to me" "Kick the ball there" "Kick the ball in the goal" "Go forward" And what is the difference between the goal words - 'hadaf' & 'almarmaa' |

Here they are:
- Pass the ball to me : marrer alkorah lee مرر الكرة لي - Kick the ball: (classical) urkul alkorah أركل الكرة or (colloquial) shoot alkorah شوت الكرة - Kick the ball in the goal: just add fee almarma في المرمى which is (in the goal). - Go forward: taqaddam تقدّم As we said in the lesson, hadaf هدف is when you score a goal, while marmaa مرمى is the actual net behind the keeper, that's why I said about (in the goal) above is (fee almarmaa). Hope it is clear now. |
