This week we bring you a lower intermediate lesson to do with smoking, in light of the newly adopted smoking ban in England. We not only teach you Arabic here at ArabicPod, but also aim to keep you up to date with current affairs and hopefully enable you to (somewhat) address the issues in Arabic. Guest host, Rida, takes over from Mohamed Moshaya for this lesson and alongside him we have our usual host Ehab. So what do you listeners think of the recent smoking ban? Feel free to air your views in our forum and if you really want to impress us then why not have a go at doing it in Arabic? Anyway enjoy ...

انجلترا منعت التدخين هذا هو خبر جيد جدا
ولكن متى سنستمع الخبر كذلك من البلاد العربية
آمل واتوقع جوابك الغالي لا على التدخين بل على محاولتي على كتابة في اللغة العربية

hi rida!
wow you did a great job. I hope we get to hear from you again.
What is the infinitive of the words dhatakheen and biddayat (banning)- what's 'he smoked' and 'he banned'
Is this mamnoo ___ a fixed format? What about nouns? What 'would be No pets or no mobile phones allowed'. Is mamnoo itself derived from some verb stem or is it just a fixed phrase?
What's the infinitive of undur. Is it nazara (to look)? Then shouldn't it be unzur with a z?

Shokran
