Many of you know that it is a common thing to have a class representative or a class leader in schools. This is not an exception in Arabic schools and the person in the dialogue is happy to be voted class president. Tune in with Sierra and Elias as they go through the dialogue and break it down.

I have loved these podcasts from the minute I discovered them earlier this year. And I have really learned to appreciate the fact that the two of you, Sierra and Elias, are now complementing Mohamed's and Ehab's excellent lessons with your contributions from Beirut. It has been an enriching experience. Keep up the good work, all of you, and please send us more local reports and news from the Levant.

I agree with Karen.
But nevertheless a suggestion for future recordings: Would it be possible to eliminate resp. keep out backgroud noises from the recordings? Like cars honking, other voices, traffic noise, or high-pitched undefinable tones. Fewer unexpected noises would help staying concentrated on he really good content.
Kind regards.

Thank you for the feedback, Karen and Tau.

Tau, we do our best to keep background noise to a minimum, but as you now know, Beirut is a very chaotic and noisy city and it's almost impossible to find a perfectly quiet space. Keep in mind that many of the places you'll be speaking Arabic will be much, much noisier than what's on the recording, so maybe the lessons can also serve as a way to ease into that...? I hope so!

I started listening to these Podcasts in February. I'm taking Arabic in the fall at my school and I feel confident that these podcasts are going to be a very big help. I like to listen to it many times; people at work (I work at a library and I can listen to my iPod) often are amazed how intent I am listening. Keep up the good work! And unlike Tau, I didn't think the background noises were distracting. It might be because I'm a college student and I often learn with many noises in the background.
