Advanced - نصائح

Although my level is not really advanced, I managed to pick many words of what you were saying. I'm alright in listening but not in writing.. What should I do to improve my writing/reading ability?

Hi Sal,

I would say the best way to improve your reading and writing ability is to see the Arabic words while listening to the podcast. Maybe whilst hearing a podcast you can have a pen and paper and attempt to write the words that you hear and see in the transcript. I believe this will help a great deal.

What is the root for looking في القاموس the word "نصائح"???

I did say nothing... I've just looked up again (coz I can't go to sleep with such a question in mind) and I found it comes from نصح (it was evident, of course).

The problem is that i did not realized it was a plural... so نصيحة (نصائح)

Are these sayings well known in the Arabic world? Like say the Golden Rule in English? This is a really good lesson. I hope you do more advanced lessons in the future! I'm sure most of the people who visit the site are at the beginner level so it makes sense to have more of those lessons, but don't neglect those who want to master the language! =)

These نصائح are unique, not as known as the popular Arabic sayings (أمثال) which are normally shorter, probably (المرء بآدابه لا بثيابه) could be called a saying (مثل)while the rest are really advices.
By the way, more advanced lessons are on the way, just keep it up with ArabicPod :).

كان -> كُن

طلّق -> طَلِق

قاطع -> لا تقاطع

بَسُطَ -> اُبْسُط

روّح -> روّح

اِلتَمَسَ -> اِلتَمِس

سؤال بسيط...ما جذر الكلمة "ألن"؟

هل تقصدين (ألن) بمعنى جعله ليّناً؟
As in making something flexible and soft?
