Intermediate - Noisy neighbours
In Arabic culture, it is not uncommon to see neighbours sharing mutual respect and love. If you're lucky enough to have a good neighbour, you can expect cooked food to be delivered occasionally and a helping hand when needed. However, as neighbours are only human, they may occasionally cause disturbance which means you need to get together with them and talk about it. This is the kind of scenario we have in today's lesson.

If we consult the Lessan dictionary we find that the noun in question has an exceptionally wide range of meanings, including “system”, “hierarchy”, “classification”, “organization”, “norm”, “regulation”, “rule”, “discipline” and “tradition”. Unfortunately, the term “house rules” has not been recorded in this reference work. Nor has its German equivalent (“Hausordnung”).
Since two-word terms like “house rules” are often overlooked by lexicographers, I’ll quote an example from the website of the North Somerset Council: “We recommend landlords prepare a set of house rules for tenants before they enter a property.”
