Beginner - Sweets and Chocolate

Ahlan wa sahlan listeners! This beginner lesson (as the title may suggest) is for those of you out there with a sweet tooth! Listen in to learn how to ask for chocolates and sweets and pick up on plenty of other useful phrases too. This lesson consists of a typical conversation between parent and child. A lot of colloquial Arabic is used. We've kept this lesson 'short and sweet', so keep
listening and keep learning!

    We are based in London and unfortunately we don't teach Arabic in Urdu yet. don't give up, tune in and improve your Arabic and English.. Hajj mabroor and good luck.

    As a fact, I bought an Arabic-Arabic dictionary these days.
    But now I cannot realize this dictionary.
    I think I want to be able to read this one in the near future.

    a couple errors in the pdf transcript- خلص should be خلصت and واحد should be واحدة thanks for the lessons anyway...

    Hay Nadasax,

    You're absolutely correct. We left those words like that because the dialogue was very colloquial and sometimes the grammatical gender rules are overlooked in colloquial, but the correct gramatical way is as you highlighted. Keep it up!

    Good lesson. I like it when you conjugate some of the important verbs to show how they transform according to which person you are talking about.

    By the way, there is another error in the transcript: in the vocabulary section- on "chocolate" you have put something else in arabic, where the English translation should go.

    Hi! Thanks you so much for all lessons. I've listen to many beginner lessons by now. Just bought a arabic-english dictionary too by Hans Wehr. I am native Swede, but read good recensions about the book and saw it is also the one used in the arabic course in at least one univeristy here. When I look in the dictionary I see that the spelling used for sweet and sweets are حلوى and حلاوى. Those it have any impact these different kind of spellings and hence important to learn? Which is best to use?
