I enjoyed listening a lot, despite not being able to understand much!!! Arabic as the "sound of music" coming from the best teachers in the world once again, what more can we want Hopefully by the end of the year I will have improved enough to understand the upper intermediate lessons, but with your continuous help and support I have no doubt about it!!!

why u learn arabic?

Dear drtherockstar, were you adressing to me the question of why I am learning arabic??? This is the most beautiful and most difficult language in the world (apart from German , so lets get going, yallah, and we have the best teachers, who make it feel totally easygoing to learn, and we keep going! Reason enough????
And dear chazyouwin, I totally understand you not understanding, just like me but we love to listen, which is the most important!!!

Saj, best way to answer your enquiry is to read the article that Moshaya has written in the blog in May 2008, the title is (Which Arabic dialect do we teach?). It does explain exactly what you are asking about.

The العقاري in this commentary confuses me a bit... I understand securities and mortgage... but عقاريmeans something akin to "supported by" or "reinforced"? I have not seen that word or the usage before. Any other examples of when you use that word in the sense of "backed".

Thanks! Awesome lesson, I just started reading Michael Lewis's Big Short that discusses much of the same theme. Nice to see it in Arabic.
