This is very useful, I am getting far better in pronouncing these letters, but I need to get used to it.
I have a problem in pronouncing the vowels, like the word علم/ Flag , I really don't how long should I stretch the ع, because sometimes when I stretch it a lot, people think I am saying عالم, is there a rule in pronouncing vowels? |
|
السلام عليكم،
شكرا لهذا الدرس! إنه مفيد جدا! I really liked the visuals, they help. Jazakallahukhairan, nur |

Shokran sk8rgurl for your nice words.
Sal, the length of stretching vowels is relative, like عالم you make sure that the (عا) is double the time that (لم) takes. In Arabic, 7arakas (َ ُ ِ ) takes half the time that full vowels (ا و ي) take. |

Very useful lesson in pronuciation, which is very important in speaking Arabic. Excellent job!

Ahlan kirina;
To introduce yourself in Arabic, just say (mar7aba ana Kirina), we've used it in many lessons, in fact if you search in the lessons page for the word (names), you'll find one of our early lessons called (What is your name?). Using this sentence to introduce yourself is understood all over the Arab countries including Egypt. Hope you get the best of ArabicPod. |
